Join us for the 3rd Annual Teen Poetry Competition and Program hosted by the Tau Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®.
Students in grades 6 to 12 are invited to create an original poem based on this year’s theme, The Mountain We Climb: The Journey Toward Unity and Purpose. Prizes will be awarded! This event is generously supported by the Council for Community Enrichment, Inc., the DeKalb County Public Library and the DeKalb Library Foundation.

Criteria for submission: Maximum of 200 words, double-spaced, typed in Microsoft Word, Times New Roman 12pt font. Profanity is strongly discouraged. Participants must also submit a video recording of themselves reciting their original poem. Both the written poem and video must be submitted electronically to thearts@akataupiomega.com. All entries should include the following information: name, grade, school, email address and telephone number. Deadline for all submissions is April 17, 2021. Finalists will be chosen by a selection committee and will present their poems during the virtual event.
