Arabia Reads is proud to welcome local artist and children’s book illustrator R. Gregory Christie to the Stonecrest Library. Join us and get a chance to meet him and see his artwork.
Christie will be reading from Nana’s New Soul Food, the most recent book to feature his illustrations, as well as talking about his vibrant and timely artwork in a pop-up exhibit in the Children’s Department of the Stonecrest Library.
Christie’s work focuses on art, literacy and diversity, especially famous or influential figures from Black culture. He’s worked with such luminaries as Regina King, Karyn Parsons, Joe Sample, and the estates of Bill Withers, and John Coltrane. His accolades include a nomination for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, a Caldecott Honor, an NAACP Image Award, and six Coretta Scott King Honor Awards.
