Exercise your whole brain. Read graphic novels! We have many to give away! We will be reading: The Best We Could Do by Thi Bui.
Books will be available at the Tucker-Reid H. Cofer Library three weeks prior to the program date. If the club fills up, we may need to share. If you’d like your book sent to a different branch or to join virtually, please contact Jason at beyerj@dekalblibrary.org.
The Best We Could Do, the debut graphic novel memoir by Thi Bui, is an intimate look at one family's journey from their war-torn home in Vietnam to their new lives in America. Exploring the anguish of immigration and the lasting effects that displacement has on a child and her family, Bui documents the story of her family's daring escape after the fall of South Vietnam in the 1970s and the difficulties they faced building new lives for themselves.
Funding for some events at this branch provided in part by the Friends of the Tucker-Reid H. Cofer Library.
