Writers Group: Editing a Manuscript
Saturday, June 13
2:00pm - 4:00pm
Join us to discuss writing craft based on a monthly topic. This month, we will begin a publication project by editing written works into a collection.
To celebrate the Writers Group's tenth anniversary (2016-2026), we will begin a project to collect our writers' original works as a published book. We will collaborate on editing a manuscript using writings submitted and published by The DeKalb Voices Review, the online literary journal of the Writers Group.
Our June and July Schedule:
June 13: Editing a Manuscript
- In this session, we will review the written works submitted to The DeKalb Voices Review and make decisions on how to assemble and order them in a collection. We will look at other collections for inspiration and make initial steps toward self-publishing and printing.
July 11: Self-Publishing Steps
- In this session, we will make design decisions about our self-published book such as cover art and choose a printing option within our budget.
No registration or membership required. New writers welcome.
