The DeKalb County Public Library, in partnership with Georgia Humanities and the DeKalb Library Foundation presents the Human Library Project. This year's theme is "Justice in Georgia."
The Human Library Project provides a safe space for readers to "check out" a "living book" and engage in one-on-one conversations that explore the stereotypes and prejudices that separate us, as well as the similarities that connect us. The Human Library Project gives "readers" an opportunity to explore different pillars of prejudice through open and honest conversation and interaction. Funding for this program is provided by Georgia Humanities and the DeKalb Library Foundation.
Funding for some events at this branch provided in part by the Friends of the Decatur Library.
All DeKalb County Public Library branches offer books for all ages including adult learning materials, audiobooks, music CDs, DVDs, current newspapers and magazines.
