Printmaker and abstract collage artist Diyah Najah will help you create a visual message of empowerment using Ghanain Adinkra Symbols and Mudcloth prints and symbols from Mali's Bamana culture.
Artist Diyah Najah will lead us through the abstract collage making process with a West African arts and culture theme. Using various papers, and basic art supplies we will play with shape, color, proportion and composition. We will learn about these West African symbols and cultures while selecting symbols that speak to us as individuals. The collages can be as large or as small as we like. I will guide the workshop participants in creating quality art worthy to be framed and passed down through the generations.
