"Lightening Struck: How an Atlanta Neighborhood Died on the Altar of Super Bowl Dreams"
Freelance Journalist Max Blau will appear at the Decatur Library to discuss his article featured in The Bitter Southerner, “Lightning Struck…”; the story of the Lightning community in Atlanta that was razed to make way for the Georgia Dome. The article features remembrances of many former residents of Lightning, and Atlanta City Council member Michael Julian Bond, whose father, civil rights icon Julian Bond, represented Lightning when he was in the Georgia Legislature.
